Owendee Arts Collective (OAC) looks to the past and the future of Australian creative work. We preserve and restore what might otherwise be lost — and help new and existing artists bring their own work to life.
Our first undertaking is the Collected Works of Wendy Evans — including her collaboration with Alan Ferguson on The Diggings Are Silent. It's where we're starting, not where we stop: OAC is built to grow, bringing new artists and their work into the collection over time. That commitment to creating pathways for new and emerging artists runs through everything we do — and will continue well beyond Wendy's catalogue.
What we're doing now
About
Owendee Arts Collective (OAC) is a registered partnership founded to give lasting shape to creative work that might otherwise stay archived and unseen. We handle the unglamorous, necessary work of restoration, rights, and presentation — so the art and the artist's voice can reach people again.
The Collective takes its name from Wendy Evans' own pen name — Owendee, a tongue-in-cheek play on her name that she used throughout her writing life. "Oh Wendy." It suited her perfectly.
OAC was founded by Wendy Evans' three daughters — Shell, Suzanne, and Leigh — to preserve and share their mother's creative legacy. The Diggings Are Silent, her collaboration with musician Alan Ferguson, is one of the Collective's first releases.
